Fall 24 In-House Coaching
The Grayslake Youth Baseball Association (GYBA) Program objectives are to help the players:
- Learn the basic skills and rules of baseball
- Learn how to work as a team
- Learn good sportsmanship in baseball and in life
- Have fun
Our team managers and coaches are the key to the Program’s success in achieving these objectives. Therefore the GYBA Board reserves the right to oversee and approve team manager/coach selections.
Please review the attached GYBA Code of Conduct for Managers/Coaches thoroughly. If you agree with and are able to fulfill the managing/coaching commitments described, please fill out this application and provide all information requested below. You will then qualify for consideration. The GYBA Baseball committee will make all manager/coach selection recommendations to the GYBA Board for approval. You will be notified in prior to the start of practices of the GYBA Board’s manager and coach selections.
Selected managers may choose one assistant coach for approval by the GYBA. If you are not selected as a manager or not chosen as an assistant coach by a selected manager, but are still interested in participating, we welcome your assistance and hope that you will help the team your child plays on. Most managers need one or two individuals, in addition to the assistant coach, to help at practices and games.
Fall 2024
GYBA Program Objectives are to develop our participants, both as players and members of our community. The focus of a GYBA In-House Coach should be about teaching fundamentals, improving sportsmanship, promoting team play, and above all, making the game fun for all participants.
